Type in the spotlight

A showcase of the universal typeface Source Serif

A type specimen

Source Serif is a classy, purposeful typeface . I showcase the type in its various weights, styles, and formatting. In order to add a bit of flair to the specimen, I include a quote about type invisibility by Frank Grießhammer, which then allows me to play with invisibility in designing various areas of the booklet.

Final thoughts

I’d never explored a typeface this extensively before, so I definitely discovered some things during this process. The italic style of a typeface can look extremely different from the regular. I also saw the effect leading can have on legibility, since I had never compared different leading measurements side to side before.
